Arnie,
l am under no illusion, the pendulum probably won't ever swing back, because the earthquake of perverted western liberalism has tilted the clock tower. Our western societies have gone completely off the rails of common sense.
As we chat Turkey and Egypt are building bridges, uniting the peoples south and east of us.
As is China with the African and Indian peoples.
Do l need to elaborate on our north eastern flank - Russia and how 'our NATO insanity forced them to strike first' ?
South America is swamping the North, hungry, desperate people - chasing overweight freaks who seriously believe that they are 'superior' !
The days of Western Domination are numbered, so what will the future bring ?
Well l'm still betting that because we 'all' are so affecting our planet, our climate, that human life will soon become fundamentally endangered.
The breakdown of Law & Order and the refusal of our Western ldeology to 'cut out the cancerous tumors' will just speed up our downfall.
And war is just bringing the final day ever closer, ever sooner !

Ah, Pinky,
how right you are -?-.
From our day of birth until the day we die ... "we are all doomed" !
But it's one thing to take the risk of riding on a train, where any number of things could go wrong:
you could get mugged and murdered,
the train could crash,
rain, a landslide or an earthquake could derail the train,
but we all still buy our ticket and take our ride, it's an acceptable controled risk.
And while l don't doubt that hanging your head out of the window of a speeding train is exhilerating, it's also an utterly idiotic thing to do, for me, a stupid unacceptable risk !
Currently, it seems to me that most people are just living for the exhileration of the moment, all hanging their heads out of the windows of their train, regardless of the other train comming the other way, full of more happy people, also hanging their heads out of the windows enjoying the exhilerating ride ...
lt's what we all and each do and allow our politicians to do in our name that makes our present situation so stupidly dangerous !
For those who prefer to put their heads in the sand ... everything is just fine; what's all the fuss about ?
By the way, it wasn't Captain Mainwaring's saying "we're all doomed" but, hey ho, getting things out of context or wrong is, obviously, very human ...
Keep smiling !

Re: Solutions
Well Gents,
I read all your comments and agree with all of you. For me I have had enough of the political stupidity I have seen in the west. I can't understand why people vote Liberal and others put up with it. It is beyond logical.
I have sold up in Calgary and moved to the country in Manitoba. I have no neighbours except animals, and I'm comfortable with that.
All the best to all of you in our old age!

Re: Solutions
John,
pleased to hear that the move went well, that's no mean feat at your age .
l see it as wise, finding somewhere away from the crows, off the beaten track even.
With a decent 4x4, the odd trip into town for essentials and all's good to go.
Any hunting/ trapping ? l know you likes your steaks !
Be glad to hear more about your new place, how you're coping with water, electricity etc..
lf you don't want to 'go public', l'll send you my e-mail via a pm on this net.
Make the most of every day ...
